If you’re struggling with a hopeless addiction to bacon, reading this article will not help. In fact, it’ll only aggravate your obsession because all we’re going to be talking about are bacon slabs.
Take note: SLABS, not strips. They’re thicker, juicier, and altogether more wonderful than the scrawny, delicate ones we’re used to having at home.
So shove the guilt down, head out to any of these eight restaurants in the Metro (they’re arranged alphabetically on this list), and sink your teeth into some glorious slabs of bacon!
1. Earth Kitchen
Having partnered with local farms and communities, Earth Kitchen makes use only of organic produce that are free of harmful chemicals. Not only that, but everything that comes out of their kitchen is made from scratch.
In this restaurant where everything is clean and healthy, you can expect even their Braised Bacon to be nutritious. The slabs are served with red cabbage and marble potatoes, making for quite the balanced meal.
Don’t get it twisted though–it’s still pretty indulgent. They left the glorious layers of fat in there for a satisfying melt-in-your-mouth experience.
Earth Kitchen can be found at these locations.
2. Fireside by Kettle
It’s funny how you try to be all healthy by ordering the caesar salad at Fireside but then you discover your greens come with a ginormous slab of bacon. What do you do? You give in to the temptation of course, because how can you possibly resist bacon?!
While it does come with romaine and iceberg lettuce, this salad really is all about the tender, perfectly charred, glistening hunk of meat that sits on the side. Expect it to be a very shareable portion of pork that’s enough to feed two to three people.
As recommended by the chef, have a bit of salad to go with every bite of bacon to balance out the saltiness with some creaminess.
Fireside by Kettle can be found at these locations.
3. Mad Mark’s
Aren’t we all glad Mad Mark’s expanded their business to go beyond just ice cream? Because this means we get to indulge in sinfully good food like fried chicken and bacon slabs. They even have a dish that puts these two things together!
Called the Yard Bird and Bacon, an order of this gives you fried chicken and a slab of bacon balanced on top of a mound of kimchi rice and then doused in bacon gravy. Now, can you imagine how sorry you’ll be if you passed this dish up?
If you’ve been counting calories the entire week, this YOLO meal is the perfect way to say good riddance to your diet.

4. Poco Deli
Known as “the little neighborhood delicatessen,” there are tons of meat to be had at Poco Deli. While their specialties are the grilled German, Italian, Polish, wagyu, and lamb sausages, they know how to cook up mighty fine bacon slabs too.
There’s a lot to sink your teeth into because Poco Deli cuts their bacon slabs real thick (and you get two huge chunks per order!) As you plunge into the mass of meat, the juices come rushing up to surface to treat your tastebuds to a wonderful savory flavor.
To make it an even more indulgent meal, they serve their bacon slabs with a generous serving of rice as well as two shiny blobs of sunny side up eggs.

5. Subspace Coffee House
Subspace is the Korean-inspired coffee shop that made purple potato lattes a thing. They’re also the ones who pioneered the art of making irresistibly cute latte art. So why is this place on the list? They also happen to have bacon slab on their menu!
Served atop a bed of rice, you’ll find Subspace’s bacon slab beautifully marbled all along its length. Make sure to smother the entire thing in their homemade mustard sauce to add a tinge of sweetness to the savory, salty meal.
We’re not all too sure how well bacon pairs with purple coffee but if you do get to try this odd combination out, review the experience on the looloo app!
Subspace Coffee House can be found on the G/F of Grand Emerald Tower, F. Ortigas Jr. Rd., Ortigas Center, Pasig, Metro Manila.
6.Todd English Food Hall
Everything at Todd English is spruced up to the nines. There are no plain old burgers or boring cheese pizzas to be found here. In fact, they’ve managed to make even the straight-to-the-point bacon slab slightly more fancy.
A plate of their Home-Cured Bacon gives you an inch-thick slab of lightly-smoked pork. To elevate the dish Todd English style, it’s served with smudges of squash puree and homemade tomato jam, adding some zing and sweetness to the meat’s savory flavor.
While it is on the pricey side, it’s a far cry from the sad, wimpy bacon strips we have at home. So go for it if you’re in the mood to splurge a little bit.
Todd English Food Hall can be found on the 5/F of SM Aura Premier, McKinley Parkway cor. 26th St., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila.
7. Unit 27 Apartment Bar + Cafe
Unit 27 is supposed to be like everyone’s second home. In this cozy apartment where it’s brunch time all the time, you get to help yourself to a slew of comforting eats. And you can bet they have bacon slabs on the menu!
Order up the Chocolate, Salted Caramel & Bacon Pancakes for the best morning ever. On top of two pancakes drizzled with nutella and salted caramel are two hefty cuts of double smoked bacon. Every mouthful is an interesting push and pull of sweet and salty flavors.
If you want something more hardcore, there’s the Jack Daniel’s Aussie Bacon & Egg. A plate of this gives you two thickly-cut, double smoked bacon glazed with barbecue JD sauce. Served with wild rice and a sunny side up egg, it’ll fill you right up!
Unit 27 Apartment Bar + Cafe can be found at Icon Plaza, 26th St. cor. Federacion Drive, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila.
8. Wildflour Cafe + Bakery
Everyone loves this neighborhood cafe for its decadent spread of freshly baked goods. But aside from its cronuts, cakes, and cookies, Wildflour gives us something else to drool over–their bacon steak.
While you won’t find it on the menu as a solo item, you can get it as part of the Wildflour Breakfast. This set comes originally with eggs, crispy potatoes, and homemade breakfast sausage but you can sub the last item for bacon for an additional ₱30.
The extra charge is worth it because it gives you one bulky slab of tender, well-seasoned bacon that’ll put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
