10. Zark’s Burgers

When the little voice at the back of your head nags you for a burger, the easiest solution is to hit up Zark’s. Even if your wallet’s not ready for a big spend, you can still order up a huge one from their menu because prices here are kept very reasonable. And that’s great news for people who have frequent burger cravings to satiate!

An interesting item from the Minor League category is the Black Mamba, a cheeseburger made flavorful with Zark’s very own Barbecue Rum Sauce. Then there’s the Burger From Hell laced with cayenne pepper, a challenging thing to eat even for the toughest of chili heads.

If you’re after quantity, head over to the Major League section where you’ll find impressive creations like the Deep Fried Bacon-Wrapped Burger, Chokeslam, Jawbreaker, and Tombstone.

9. Garahe Burger X Burrito

You’d need to be a bit of a koboy to dine at Garahe. It’s a small space with limited chairs so you might end up having to stand. And as for plates and utensils, they’re all of the disposable kind. Forget about even trying to park here! But you need to put the kaartehan aside because their burgers make up for these minor setbacks in a big way!

For as little as ₱55, you get to sink your teeth into a juicy, flavorful burger with homemade natural beef patty and fresh vegetables. Choose from variants like the Egg Mushroom Burger, Bacon Mushroom Burger, Double Burger, and Chili Con Carne Burger.

Garahe Burger X Burrito can be found at 7 San Jose St., Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

8. Charlie’s Grind and Grill

Seven years ago, Charlie’s Grind & Grill was that new burger joint in Kapitolyo hiding behind a car wash. As strange as their location was, they were our introductory course to quality burgers–the ones who taught us that we should never settle for anything less than juicy and flavorful patties! Their Angus and Wagyu Burgers were instant hits, setting the bar high for the slew of burger joints that would pop up soon after.

Fast forward to today, they have three more branches and a beefier menu to choose from. Some of the additions are the Sloppy Burger, loaded with chili con carne and a fried egg, the Foie Gras Burger, topped with foie gras, truffle mayo, and gouda cheese, and the Five Cheese Burger, made rich by cheese sauce, mozzarella, gouda, cheddar, and bleu cheese.

7. Sweet Ecstasy

While all the other burger places in town try to one up each other with out-of-the-box concepts, Sweet Ecstasy keeps things simple. This joint has an uncluttered menu consisting only of three burger variants, namely the Cheeseburger, the Hamburger, and the Double. But as plain as all that sounds, looloo reviewers find them delicious! Every burger is made with freshly-baked brioche buns, quality beef ground from prime cuts, and topped with their secret ecstasy sauce.

Over at their original branch in Makati, people don’t seem to mind the crowd and the heat as long as they they leave with their tummies full (and they always do). But luckily for us who aren’t as willing to sweat, they have a new branch in Katipunan that has the comforts of air-conditioning as well as more room to move in!

6. B&B Burgers and Brewskies

Both gourmands and copywriters alike are sure to get a kick out of B&B Burgers and Brewskies. Their beef patties, perfectly cooked to a medium doneness, will thrill the former. While the witty, well-thought out names given to their masterpieces will impress the latter. But you don’t really have to be either of the two to enjoy B&B. Anyone with a mouth and tastebuds will love their heavenly burgers with quirky twists!

The burger that catapulted them to fame is the Call The Nurse. While it may sound intimidating, it’s actually an irresistible combination of soft buns, juicy patty, seared mac n’ cheese, and honey sriracha bacon! But now that it’s lent, you may want to go for their meatless burgers instead. There’s the P. Sherman which makes use of New England style fish cakes, as well as the Don’t Have A Cow which replaces beef with red lentils and bulgur wheat patties.

5. The Beef

“If it’s not perfect, let us know and we’ll replace your meal or give you a refund,” says the little sign written on The Beef’s wall. But it’s hard to imagine anyone marching up to the counter with an unhappy look on their face because just by reading through their looloo reviews, it seems everything that comes out of this stall is superb! They may have just two items on the menu (the Hamburger and the Cheeseburger) but they’ve mastered making both down to a T.

As you’ve probably already guessed from the name, it’s the burger patties that stand out here. They have the perfect fat-to-meat ratio, making them a delight to bite into. They’re also seasoned well, saving you the hassle of having to smother them in ketchup or mustard. And as if that’s not enough of a treat, they’re also sandwiched in between two of the soft, buttery buns!

The Beef can be found on the 4/F of Hole in the Wall, Century City Mall, Kalayaan Ave. cor. Salamanca St., Poblacion, Makati, Metro Manila.

4. Big B Burgers

This restaurant is great at two things: 1) cooking up burgers and 2) cracking jokes. Big B Burgers combines its skill in the kitchen with a great sense of humor (you’ll find witty comebacks and hugot lines all over the place!) to give their customers a one-of-a-kind, never boring experience.

Everyone’s favorite here is the Big B because its patty is 50% beef and 50% bacon…and no one can resist bacon! You’ll find that their other burger patties are half beef and half something else too. The Bongga is part longganisa, the Baus part breakfast sausage, and the Bam! part spam. If you can’t decide on just one, choose three patties and they’ll put them all together in what they call a Tr3ason Burger!

According to looloo reviewers, their burgers are best eaten with a side of Poutine ng Ina Mo, fries topped with gravy and mozzarella!

3. The Snack Shack

The Snack Shack may not be the most sophisticated restaurant ever (if you can even call it that), but they sure know how to impress with their burgers! You’d have to wait fifteen to twenty minutes to get your order but this is only because all their beef patties are freshly grilled. Beats all the other fast food joints out there! And besides, you can always text them what you want beforehand. They’ll cook it up for you and all you have to do is swing by and pick it up!

Their bestselling Quarter Pounder (unbelievably cheap at just ₱70!) is made up of a chunk patty, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and condiments. While that may sound way too simple, they’re incredibly tasty! Which is why some people go for the Half Pounder (it has double of everything all for an additional cost of ₱30). And that folks, is the end of their burger menu. Straightforward but it keeps the crowd coming back!

The Snack Shack can be found at these locations.

2. Lazy Bastard

Lazy Bastard is no place to be getting quinoa salad–greens have no place on the menu. But what you will find here are big, flavorful, oily burgers with lots and lots of bacon! Open everyday from 11AM to 3AM, you can hit them up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or whenever you’re hungover. No one will judge you for getting an extra order of everything or for getting burger juice all over yourself. Get as sloppy as you want!

Lazy Bastard

They have four burgers on their list, the most popular one being the Bacon Cheeseburger. This comes as no surprise though because it’s got a BACON WEAVE inside! They also have the Hamburger, a dream come true for any beef lover, the Cheeseburger, drizzled with melted 100% cheddar cheese, and the Sloppy Joe, a messy but delightful treat to eat. They’re all made with only the best and freshest ingredients!

Lazy Bastard can be found at B, 22 Jupiter St. cor. Galaxy St., Bel-Air, Makati, Metro Manila.

1. 8Cuts Burger Blends

If there’s anything Filipinos love more than burgers, it’s being able to customize them. Which is why 8Cuts Burger Blends has landed at the very top of this list! With full control over your order, you get to pick your bun (sesame, brioche, or kaiser), choose your toppings (or just have them all dumped in there), and select from five house-ground custom patty blends. But if you think making that many decisions is too big of a responsibility, simply trust 8 Cuts’ great taste and order off the menu. If you have a love affair with pork, get yourself the Piggy–its patty is made from chuck and short ribs and then sinfully topped with yellow cheddar, bacon strips, and house-made bacon jam!
