Cat Cafes In Metro Manila

0

Cats – love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’ve become one of the most popular creatures on almost every corner of the internet! But behind all those memes about their incorrectly-spelled cheeseburgers, perpetual laziness, and puzzling habit of sitting on anything we happen to be working on, they’re actually some of the most lovable companions one can ever hope to find.

It seems like Manila has finally caught up with this online feline fever because numerous cat cafes have begun popping up all over the metro! And, whether you’re a cat lover or not, trying out a cat cafe will surely be one unforgettable experience. So if you’re itching to get a taste of Manila’s cat cafe craze, we’ve rounded up the purr-fect spots for you to check out!

Bengal Brew

One place that adds a unique twist to their cat cafe experience is Bengal Brew, a place occupied solely by – yep, you guessed it – Bengal cats! In fact, Bengal Brew is the first cat cafe in the world to exclusively feature this exotic breed of felines, which often resemble leopards in their appearance. Aside from housing 18 Bengal cats, the place is also a favorite haunt for some local artists and celebrities.

Step inside the cafe’s doors and you’ll instantly feel like you’ve been transported to the wilderness. Since Bengal cats thrive in tropical environments, the whole cafe is modeled after a rainforest – allowing guests to interact with the cats in their “natural habitat.” You’ll probably find them climbing cat ramps, perching atop tree trunks, and roaming around the caves and mini waterfalls of Bengal Brew’s life-size pond, so be sure to have your camera ready for those picture perfect moments!

Bengal Brew is located at Manhattan Parkview, Aurora Blvd. cor. Gen. Romulo Ave., Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila.

Cat Cafe Manila

Heartwarming causes take center stage at Cat Cafe Manila, a place that aims to spread love for cats and advocate for responsible pet ownership while delivering an enjoyable themed cafe experience to its guests. Inside, you’ll find their resident puspins (“pusang Pinoy”) roaming around or resting on cute little wooden beds, houses, and hanging bridges mounted on the wall.

Those who happen to fall in love with any of these cats while visiting will be happy to know that they are all spayed/ neutered and up for adoption! As part of their advocacy, Cat Cafe Manila works in partnership with CARA Welfare Philippines to find new homes and loving owners for their puspins. Guests can enter for just ₱200 per head but the cafe can only handle around 15 people per hour, so it’s highly recommended that you make a reservation first through Cat Cafe Manila’s website before visiting.

Cat Cafe Manila is located at 2/F 189 Maginhawa St. cor Makadios St., Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. Operating hours: Monday – Sunday 12 NN – 10 PM

Gilmore Cat Cafe

“It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die!” You might end up repeating these words over and over yourself after stepping inside Gilmore Cat Cafe. Those who adore fluffy and long-haired cats will be happy to know that many of the cafe’s resident felines are of the Persian and Russian breeds. You can even get the chance to meet Garfield – well, not the fictional character, but the cafe’s equally lovable fat orange tabby cat!

The two-storey cafe houses its cat haven on the second floor, complete with cat condos, toys, hammocks, walkways, and scratching posts. Guests who wanna take a break from playing can also relax, cool down with some yogurt and fruit shakes, and read a few books in the cozy restaurant area on the first floor.
