For Filipinos, rounding up family members and gorging together in an eat-all-you-can restaurant is the automatic thing to do when there’s an occasion. But as fun as it is to fill your bellies with as much food as your (garterized) pants will allow, it usually means having to forgo quality for quantity.
If there’s a birthday, reunion, or despedida coming up and you want to celebrate it with unlimited food, there’s a buffet restaurant in Solaire that’ll impress you not just with their huge spread but more so with how excellently made their dishes are. Help yourself to delicious things like lobster, lechon, sashimi, and the most indulgent chocolate cake ever!
Nature-inspired ambiance, top-notch food, and unlimited wine at Fresh
Surrounded by plants and cascading water, Fresh International Buffet at Solaire doesn’t look like your typical hotel restaurant. The nature-inspired elements will have you feeling like you’re dining in a relaxing garden but with the perks of air-conditioning, beautiful lighting, and chic decor! Bright, clean, and fresh, it’s the kind of space you can hang out in for hours.
Aside from its inviting ambiance, the top-notch food is another reason to visit. With a total of eight stations to choose from, namely Japanese, Italian, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, carving, cold cuts, and pastries, you’re bound to find whatever it is you’re craving for. And whatever you do end up putting on your plate, you can be sure it’s fresh. You won’t find any reheated leftovers from the day before; everything is prepared and served on the same day.
One more thing to love about Fresh is the unlimited wine! While you have to order your alcohol separately in other buffet places, at Fresh, different types of wine are included in the spread so you can have as many glasses as you want, whenever you want. You can even play sommelier and match your drink with your food!
The bestsellers you have to try when you’re dining at Fresh
There are new dishes to try at Fresh every month but there are some popular mainstays in their buffet lineup you can always catch.
If you’re looking for the familiarity of Filipino food, make sure you scoop up some Oxtail Kare-Kare with Vegetables for yourself. In the rich peanut-y and garlicky sauce, you’ll find perfectly cooked chunks of oxtail, tripe, and beef as well as some pechay, puso ng saging, talong, and sitaw for some added texture. If you’re getting wine, this dish is best paired with Cabernet Sauvignon!
If you’re ready to move onto the Italian station, be sure to make room for the Penne Pasta with Napoletana Sauce on your plate. Made with anchovies, tomato sauce, basil, and chili, it’s a simple but satisfying pasta entree that surprises you with a little spicy kick at the end.
Grab a few slices of Quattro Formaggi Pizza, topped off with cheese, walnuts, and apples, as well as a glass of Sauvignon Blanc to go with your pasta!
Of course, you can’t call it a proper buffet experience if you don’t head over to the Japanese station! The Tuna Sashimi, melt-in-your-mouth soft with a clean flavor, is definitely a must-try, and so is the Salmon Sashimi, imported fresh from Norway and cut into delightfully thick slices.
The Ebi Tempura is also worthy of space in your tummy, the prawns fresh and bouncy to the bite and the batter light and crispy. You can try pairing your Japanese picks with some sparkling wine!
If you think you’ve had enough of eating, you can’t call it quits yet without tasting the Roast Beef with Mashed Potato! Marinated with herbs and cooked for four hours, you’ll regret it if you pass up on this tender, juicy, and flavorful masterpiece.
Other things you shouldn’t miss out on are the Lobster, which is always in season at Fresh, and the Lechon, made in the restaurant everyday and cooked for four to five hours to get the crispiness of the skin right.
If you’re ready to cap your meal off, the best way to do is with a slice (or two) of the Signature Solaire Cake, one of the richest, most chocolatey desserts you will ever taste! It’s made without flour, which explains its gooey texture, and Swiss dark chocolate, which explains its bold flavor.
Like that isn’t decadent enough, it’s finished off with a Swiss gold leaf! You can find this amazing cake in the other restaurants at Solaire but at Fresh, you can have as much of it as you want!
If you’re looking for something you can’t find in the spread, talk to any of the chefs at Fresh and they’ll be glad to accommodate your requests!
