7 Coworking Spaces For Students, Freelancers, And Anyone Else Who Needs To Get Shit Done

Unless you’re the Rory Gilmore / Sheldon Cooper type, you probably see studying as a chore you’d rather put off for ~much~ later. But it’s a good thing you can always round up your classmates and form a study group to make hitting the books less of a soul-sucking activity. Aside from having company, you also procrastinate less and learn faster when you’re with study buddies.

For your next group study sesh, here are six coworking spaces in the metro you can bring the gang to. These venues are also perfect for freelancers, work-from-home employees, creatives, entrepreneurs, and just about anyone who wants to be part of a motivated and productive community. It’s a big bonus too that you don’t ever have to worry about caffeine or socket shortages when you’re in these coworking spaces!

1. Cofficina Cafe + Cowork

If you’ve tried getting stuff done in a coffee shop, you would know they’re not exactly the best place to work in. The coffee’s overpriced, the outlets are limited, and you get judging stares when you stay for too long. But at Coffina Cafe + Cowork, you can have as many cups of coffee as you want and stay for as long as you need to. Plus there are outlets everywhere! They also hold cool workshops here so guests can learn new skills.

A one-hour stay here is just ₱80 while a day pass will cost you ₱350. You can also hold meetings here for ₱1,200 and rent the space out for an event for ₱5,000.

2. Diligence Cafe

If perseverance isn’t your strong suit, you can work on it inside Diligence Cafe. In here, you’ll have all the help you’ll need to get everything done, whether it be a presentation for work or the final draft of your thesis. There’s fast wifi, unlimited coffee and juice, affordable food, shower services, and napping services. It doesn’t close until the next day so if you’re looking for a conducive place to pull an all-nighter, this would be it!

It’s ₱350 if you want to stay here for one whole day and but if you’d like to commit to the diligent lifestyle, it’s ₱2,500 for a one-month unlimited stay.

Operating hours: 2:30 PM to 7:00 AM the following day

3. Quad

One of the drawbacks of studying in a cafe is having to pay a steep price for a cup of joe which doesn’t even include refills. But at Quad, you get to save quite a bit on caffeine because they offer their guests an unlimited supply of brewed coffee! And that’s just one of the many great things there is to love about this coworking space. There’s also the fact that you can doze off in their napping area as well as bring your own baon / have food delivered!

They have an hourly rate of ₱60 and a daily rate of ₱400. But if you think you’re going to be here everyday, you can pay the ₱6,000 monthly rate.

4. Racket Room

It’s a hard life for anyone out there who’s trying to adult. Sometimes, one job isn’t enough to make ends meet so you create others streams of income, otherwise known as mga racket. If this is you, you can hang out at Racket Room to get your productive juices going! Inside this shared office, like-minded individuals can collaborate and make ideas happen, all while enjoying services like unlimited scanning and free-flowing coffee, tea, and water.

They have different fixed period subscriptions, starting at ₱600 for those who would like to stay for one whole day. Their weekly rate is ₱2,400 while their monthly rate is ₱6,000.

Operating hours: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Racket Room can be found at Unit 3G, The Symphony Towers, Sgt. Esguerra Ave, Diliman, Quezon City, 1103 Metro Manila.

5. Roots Katipunan

Inside Roots Katipunan, a friendly community hub found right across Ateneo, you can pull up a chair, get comfy, and work for as long as you need to. But it’s not just a coworking space–it also doubles up as a venue for entrepreneurs to market and sell their goods. If you’ve got organic soap, metal straws, or handmade jewelry, you can rent out a display shelf here and have your products showcased!

If you see yourself camping out here every day, you’ll get a lot out of the monthly pass (₱3,500 per month). But if you’re staying for just one whole day, get the day pass for ₱350 instead.

Roots Katipunan can be found at FBR Bldg, Katipunan Ave., Brgy Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

6. The Study

The library’s a great place to hit up if you need some quiet time to get things done. But only if you can go for hours at a time without any food or drinks. If you need to eat while you cram for a test, ditch the lib and head to The Study instead. Not only is it a conducive environment for students to learn, you also get to order delicious things off the menu. They have ulam like beef tapa and sisig as well as pasta dishes like pesto and bolognese cream.

While it’s usually students you’ll find here (it is, afterall, found right across Ateneo), don’t hesitate to pull up a chair if you’re well beyond your schooling years. Everyone’s gotta hustle and eat!

7. WorkHaven Space

So you’ve built a team for your startup venture already and everything else is pretty much set…except that you don’t have an office to call your own yet. That’s no problem though because that’s exactly what places like WorkHaven are for! In this shared office / coworking facility found in the heart of the Ortigas CBD, you and your employees can work under the same roof. It’s a bonus too that you get a prestigious business address to link to your company!

If you’re planning on getting a feel of the place first, you can pay ₱500 for a drop-in pass. If you want a month-long pass, you can call them up for more details.
