Summer is fast approaching (we feel the heat already!) and you know what that means! It’s time to hightail it out of Manila and head to the countless beaches our 7,000+ islands have to offer!
But before you start booking your usual hotels, we’ve got a suggestion for you. Why not try something new and book a tree house instead! There aren’t many places that offer these tree houses so to help you out, here’s a rundown of 5 resorts that do!
1. Sanctuaria Treehouses
Palawan has always been a nature lover’s paradise. Whether you want to go on an island hopping adventure or you just want some peace and quiet, the province has something to offer you. So if you happen to be one of the latter, give Sanctuaria Treehouses a try this summer!
Located in Busuanga, Sanctuaria Treehouses offers seclusion atop a hill overlooking a majestic view of its private beach area. In her looloo review, Nikki C. calls it “the place to be” if you’re looking for a “relaxing, worry-free, stress-free” vacation spot.
Accommodations are limited so be sure to make your reservations right away. If you’re lucky enough to score one, some of the activities you can look forward to during your stay include kayaking and horseback riding. Sanctuaria can also arrange diving and island hopping tours for you and your party. If that’s not enough, a 20-minute walk will lead you to the cool, fresh water of the Concepcion waterfall.
How to book a reservation: The best way to reach Sanctuaria Treehouses is through its Airbnb page. Rates are at ₱1,978/night.

2. Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa
Got money to spare and planning to splurge on a summer vacation? Then hop on a plane and head to Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa for a tropical getaway! There are numerous rooms, suites, and villas to choose from but why not kick your experience up a notch and book the Tree House Villa!
With a breathtaking view of the ocean, butler service, and even a jacuzzi on the balcony, the Tree House Villa offers luxury and privacy all in one place. Book the villa and you’ll also get round-trip land and speedboat transfers from the Boracay Airport as well as a breakfast buffet for two at the resort’s Vintana Cafe.
It will be very tempting to lounge in your tree house all day but if you decide to take a break and step outside, Shangri-La has a variety of activities that you can enjoy. Laiya Coco Grove houses not just one but three different types of tree houses! Whether you’re traveling alone or with your family or barkada, there is a tree house that will suit your needs. The Standard Tree House has five rooms that can fit five people per room. The Couple Tree House has three rooms that fit two people each. And lastly, the Superior Tree House has two rooms that can accommodate eight people in total.
