5 More Themed Bars You Can Find In Metro Manila

0

When we think of bars, there’s already an automatic image that pops into our mind. Dim lighting, a wide array of bottles of every size and color behind the counter, and identical furniture that do not really stand out. Doesn’t quite sound that exciting to go to, right?

Luckily for us, a lot of owners these days put more attention to the look and theme of their bars. And guess what? We’re listing down five of these themed bars just for you! In this rundown, there are two that have for the tropical vibe and one that has a garden theme. The fourth bar on this list is filled with arcade games while another will make you feel like you stepped into the Great Gatsby!

1. The Coconut Club

The first of the two tropical-themed bars in this rundown, The Coconut Club should be on your list if you’re looking for hang out places with awesome drinks when you’re in BGC.

“I love its ambiance. It’s like an island bar in the middle of the city,” Norman Lester T. says in his looloo review. “The place is well-lit for a bar, which for me is good.”

While drinking the Fresh Buko in the Shell is a must when at The Coconut Club, give the slushies a try as well! Be sure to catch the Happy Hour period so that you can get them at a cheaper price!

The Coconut Club can be found on the G/F of the Bonifacio High Street Central, 7th Ave. corner 28th St., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

2. The Hummingbird Rooftop Bar

Gone are the days when drinking at stuffy, warm, overcrowded bars is the only option there is. These days, there are places like The Hummingbird Rooftop Bar that provide open, airier spaces, and a more relaxed atmosphere for your next night out!

“This place is so cosy and the music is not too loud,” says Ava G. in her looloo review. “People can talk to each other without shouting.”

This garden-themed bar makes sure you’ll get some Instagram-ready shots with its nature-inspired decor. But that’s not all you’ll get! Since The Hummingbird is also a rooftop bar, be prepared to be amazed by the stellar views of the Quezon City skyline as you drink the night away!

The Hummingbird Rooftop Bar can be found on the 6/F of the Stone House Bed & Breakfast, 1315 E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave., Quezon City.

3. The Penthouse 8747

If you’ve ever watched the Great Gatsby, chances are you’ve wondered what it’s like to live in that point in history. While time traveling is virtually impossible, the next best thing is rather pretty easy to do. All you have to do is find the Lepanto Building in Makati, head up to the 22nd floor, and you’ll find yourself stepping into the 1920s. Welcome to The Penthouse 8747, ladies and gentlemen!

“One couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with its interiors, adorned with gold accents, posh velvet couches, and ornate chandeliers,” says AlwaysHungryPh P. in his looloo review. “There is an open air balcony area which can hold up to 200 people. Here, guests will have a magnificent view of the Makati Skyline and the Ayala Triangle Gardens.”

Lounging on one of the couches surrounded by all the glitz and glamor won’t be complete without a fancy drink in hand. Order the Jellous Lover, which is a mix of champagne and sparkling wine with an alcohol jelly sitting at the bottom of the glass.

The Penthouse 8747 can be found on the 22/F of the Lepanto Building, 8747 Paseo de Roxas St., Makati.

4. Tortuga

Tortuga might be a familiar name for many people out there, especially those who frequented its old Katipunan branch. A lot of its loyal customers were understandably bummed out when the bar’s QC place closed down. But fear not because Tortuga has found its new home in Makati!

Located in the popular foodie district of Poblacion, Tortuga reminds us about everything we love about the island life with its tropical-themed interiors! There are leaves painted on the walls, the tables and chairs are made from wood, and its menu features dishes you’d love to snack on by the beach.

Even Tortuga’s drinks are tropical themed! There’s the Sneaky Tiki, which has vodka, bourbon, sweet tea, and orange, and the Cocomo, which is made up of white rum, coconut, and pineapple. If cocktails aren’t your thing, Tortuga’s still got you covered with its selection of beers and numerous hard drinks!

Tortuga can be found on the 2/F of the Lokal Hostel, 5023 P. Burgos St., Poblacion, Makati.

5. Versus Barcade

Could arcade games and really good drinks go together? They totally can, especially at Versus Barcade!

But when we say arcade games, we don’t mean those you see in the popular mall arcades these days. We’re talking about those good ol’ retro games like Mario Kart, Pinball, and Street Fighter!

In her looloo review, Mary Love S. describes the game room as large enough to “entertain a group of about 20.” “There’s also this air hockey-like game where the goal of the players is to keep their pucks in the 1, 2 or 3 pointer grids to earn points,” she narrates. “I tried it several times and after what seemed like forever, I managed to score 1 point.”

Gaming, even of the old school variety, can be pretty tiring so once your stomach starts rumbling, make sure to grab some bar chow! Versus Barcade even offers snacks like kwek kwek and chicharon bulaklak on the menu!

Versus Barcade can be found on the G/F of the Uptown Parade, 9th Ave. corner 38th St., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
