5 Places To Get Your Cheese Fix In Metro Manila

Whether you like your cheese as appetizer or dessert, mild or funky, melted into a puddle of goo or shredded into confetti, it doesn’t matter. All that does is that cheese is delicious and that we have a list of places in the metro that serve different kinds of extremely cheesy dishes.

There’s an Italian deli in Mandaluyong where you can cook your pasta inside a huge parmesan wheel, a French bistro in BGC where you can cover everything in melted Swiss cheese, a buffet restaurant in Pasay that has its own cheese room, and a Japanese franchise that brought gouda-filled cookies to the Philippines!

1. Galileo Enoteca

Modeled after the wine repositories in Italy, you’ll find a whole lot of alcohol at Galileo Enoteca. But imported, top quality wine isn’t the only thing you can savor here. There’s plenty of cheese to go around too!

For the cheesiest meal ever at Galileo Enoteca, you should try cooking your pasta inside their enormous wheels of parmesan cheese! Come in on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (just make sure you’ve made reservations beforehand!) to try out this one-of-a-kind of dining experience.

To make your Parmesan Cheese Wheel Pasta, you need to first choose your type of pasta as well as your preferred sauce. You’ll then be taught how to use the parmesan wheel!

Galileo Enoteca can be found at 80 Calbayog St. cor. Malinao St., Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

2. L’entrecote

At L’entrecote (entrecote is the French term for prime cuts of beef) is most known for their steaks, all made from certified US angus beef. But aside from plunging your teeth into tender slabs of meat, you shouldn’t miss out on their extra cheesy dishes either!

They have a portion on their menu that features nothing but cheese and one of the items you can get from there is The Original Swiss Cheese Fondue. Doesn’t blanketing everything in hot melted Swiss cheese sound like the ultimate cheese lover’s dream come true?!

Another cheesy entree you can help yourself to is the Raclette Canape, pieces of bread topped off with mushrooms, ham, pineapples, and tomato chutney and smothered in melted Swiss raclette cheese!

L’entrecote can be found at Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila.

3. Melt Grilled Cheesery

Knowing that cheese has the ability make a lot of people happy, the owners of Melt Grilled Cheesery came up with a place that’s dedicated solely to the gooey, addicting stuff.

One of the bestsellers from the appetizers section of their menu is the Melt’s Mac & Cheese Bars, stuffed with macaroni and cheese, fried to a delicious crisp, and served with a sour cream dip. In his looloo review, Apollo A. described these as heavenly and something he could eat everyday!

If that’s not cheesy enough for you, go ahead and order up the Monte Cristo. This monstrosity of a sandwich is made up of french toasted sourdough stuffed with Melt’s house blend of melted cheeses, parma ham, aioli, and scrambled egg and served with a side of maple syrup!

Melt Grilled Cheesery can be found on the 3/F of Uptown Place Mall, 36th St. cor. 9th Ave., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila.

4. Pablo

By now, you’ve probably already heard all about Pablo. It’s impossible to have missed out on the news of their landing in Manila because there has been so much buzz about it!

But what you may not know is that there’s more to Pablo than just their Cheese Tarts. For one, they have Sabrel Cheese too! These delicately light cookies are filled with gouda cheese, making them the perfect treat to go along with a glass of wine. You can also get them in variants like matcha and black (made with truffle salt and bamboo charcoal).

The massive buffet spread at Spiral is already quite the treat in itself but add a room filled with cheese to that and you’ve got yourself a meal of epic proportions!

Spiral’s cheese room is a candy wonderland of sorts but for cheese lovers. You get to choose from a wide selection of cheeses, including varieties from Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Switzerland, as well food to go with your cheese like meat, fish, olives, herbs, and jams.
