1. Freezer Burn

Ever since it first opened last July, Freezer Burn has been one of the most exciting dessert spots in the metro. Its composed desserts ooze so much creativity and a sense of fun that makes us want to taste each and every one of them. And lucky for us, Freezer Burn regularly updates its menu with new creations that keep all foodies out there on their toes!

This holiday season is no exception as Freezer Burn has introduced not one, not two, but four Christmas-themed desserts! Those who love the cool, minty taste of candy canes will enjoy the Peppermint Candy Cane, which is served with fudge brownies. Simbang Gabi, on the other hand, puts a twist on a Filipino Christmas tradition with its salted egg ice cream and freshly made bibingka.

Made up of salted cinnamon ice cream and chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven, Santa’s Fave brings back a lot of childhood memories of leaving food out for Mr. Claus to snack on during Christmas Eve! Last and certainly not the least, we might not get to experience snow here in the Philippines but Freezer Burn brings us a White Christmas with its mascarpone ice cream and vanilla lava toast concoction!

Freezer Burn is located at G/F B3, Bonifacio High Street, 11th Avenue corner 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

2. The Baker’s Table

Hany. Mik Mik. Haw Haw. Butterball. These are just some of the sweets we loved to eat and craved for as kids. But just when we thought they are just things of the past and we’d never get a chance eat them again, The Baker’s Table adds a splash of nostalgia to the present by giving us a chance to taste those familiar flavors again. But this time, they come in cake form.

Staying true to idea of walking down memory lane, The Baker’s Table’s holiday cakes come in flavors we normally encounter during this time of the year. The Puto Bumbong Cake reminds us of all those early mornings spent eating delicious kakanin and other sweet treats after attending the simbang gabi.

Are you one of those people who just love ube and cheese together? Or maybe you’re one of those who got excited at the mere sight of the queso de bola in its red cellophane wrapper? Then you shouldn’t miss out the chance to try the Ube Queso Cake!

The Baker’s Table is located at 88B Maginhawa Street, Teacher’s Village, Quezon City.

3. Carousel Creamery

Carousel Creamery proved to everyone that there’s no such thing as too much ice cream when it joined the local foodie scene armed with a staggering 101 flavors in total.

It might seem like Carousel Creamery has exhausted all the flavor combinations that exist with offerings like Puto and Cheese, Pumpkin Spice, and even Beer and Chicharon. But as they say, Christmas is a time for miracles and surprises and Carousel Creamery has quite a lot of them for foodies everywhere.

For its holiday offerings, Carousel Creamery takes its cue from the classic Christmas Carol, The 12 Days of Christmas. But instead of a partridge in a pear tree or 12 drummers drumming (and everything in between), Carousel Creamery brings you 12 Christmas flavors to choose from!

There’s Peppermint Chocolate for those who can’t get enough of this minty flavor. Don’t like chocolate but love mint? Go for the Caramel Mint Cookie! If you’re more into fruit-flavored ice cream, go bananas with the Chocolate Banana Fondue, Langka Turon, or the Raspberry Coco Ripple ice cream!

For those looking for a more adventurous flavor, Carousel Creamery has a Salted Caramel Pork Floss ice cream! And if you’re a Star Wars fan, there will also be a flavor inspired by the galaxy far, far away which will be out when Rogue One hits theaters!

Carousel Creamery is located at 8 Missouri Street, Greenhills, San Juan.

4. Cupcakes by Sonja

Would you believe that Cupcakes by Sonja has been around for an entire decade already? But even after ten long years, it shows no signs of slowing down. Not only does it dish out consistently mouthwatering cupcakes, Cupcakes by Sonjae even added doughnuts to its menu! Time isn’t the only one that moves fast because these doughnuts sell out lightning quick too!

A two-toned vanilla cupcake (in red and green, of course!) topped with marshmallow frosting and sprinkles, it also has an eight-inch cake version if you want a bigger size!

Christmas is probably one of the few times of the year when you need no excuse to eat a lot of chocolates so for the chocoholics out there, try the Oh Christmas Tree Chocolate Cake! The sinfully decadent Valrhona chocolate cake comes with a velvety, sweet chocolate ganache. And there’s even more chocolate because the cake is iced with chocolate cream!

5. Early Bird Breakfast Club

Whether you prefer to have something sweet like pancakes, toast, and waffles or something heftier like the tapsilog, bacon, and longganisa, breakfast food is easily one of our favorite types of food. It’s probably one of the reasons why all-day breakfast spots have been such a big hit among foodies! Not only do they serve delicious comfort food, they’re convenient, making it a lot easier not to skip out on the most important meal of the day.

This Christmas season, Early Bird Breakfast Club is where one of the most popular breakfast food meets what is arguably the most favorite holiday of the year. The Puto Bumbong Pancake makes its annual return to the Early Bird Breakfast Club’s menu. The purple pancakes topped with toasted coconut and melted cheese is going to be a surefire winner among those who love the classic kakanin.

Other Christmas sweets you can expect from Early Bird Breakfast Club includes the Choco Mallow Pancake and Green Tea Calamansi Cheesecake!

6. Sebastian’s Ice Cream

In a country where it’s summer nearly all year-round, we easily and happily welcome the cooler weather once December rolls in. But despite the change in temperature, there’s still no saying no to ice cream. One of the most loved ice cream brands in the metro, Sebastian’s Ice Cream is no stranger to adding some holiday flair into their menu offerings.

Sebastian’s Ice Cream has branches in Katipunan, Quezon City, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay, Salcedo Village, Makati, and The Podium, Mandaluyong.

7. Mrs. Graham’s Cafe

Though there’s nothing better than getting a plane ticket to France for a chance to eat macarons in Paris for Christmas, these things are probably easier said than done. Good thing we have our very own, proudly local macaron heaven in Quezon City, Mrs. Graham’s!

If you’re craving for the traditional Christmas flavors that we all know and love, Mrs. Graham’s has the all-time Filipino favorite Queso de Bola as well as Gingerbread macarons! Curious how your favorite Christmas drinks taste like in macaron form? Try the Eggnog and Peppermint Mocha macarons!

Mrs. Graham’s Cafe is located at 51C Scout Rallos Street, Quezon City.

8. Paper Moon Cafe

At one point or another, we’ve all marveled at how the mille crepe cake of Paper Moon is made. With multiple layers of paper-thin crepes and cream, the cake looks delicate and light with a taste so good it’s like you’re in heaven. This Christmas, Paper Moon lets you decorate your own mille crepe cake. Yup, you read that right! A DIY crepe cake! The Christmas Mille Cake comes with a set of Christmas-themed decorations you can use to jazz up the cake and make it perfect for the holidays!

If you think that crepe cakes are all that Paper Moon has to offer this Christmas, you’re about to learn differently! Love cheesecakes? Paper Moon also has Cheesecake Bars, which come in original and matcha flavors! Can’t have Christmas without chocolate? There’s the Choco Banana Walnut Cake!

9. Bizu Patisserie and Bistro

Known for its picture-perfect macarons and cakes as well as its delicious breads, Bizu has been one of the go-to places over the years for holiday sweets to be given away as gifts or enjoyed with family and friends. For 2016, Bizu’s offerings are nothing short of being social media ready while still maintaining the quality and deliciousness that Bizu has been known for.

For those whose Christmas tradition includes munching on gingerbread cookies, try the Gingerbread Cake, which comes with dried cranberries and actual cookies atop the cinnamon frosting! The Sticky Date Cake will probably remind you of the fruitcake but Bizu’s creation comes with cherries, cranberries, and even white chocolate!
