There’s a lot of love going around for the month of February, especially for the ten restaurants that made it to the most popular restaurants list!

For this rundown, we have three newbies and two that have been on the list for three months straight! Want to know which restaurant made it to the top spot? Read on and find out!

10. Izakaya Kikufuji

Izakaya Kikufuji is a name that many foodies know by heart, especially those who just can’t get enough of Japanese cuisine. Undoubtedly one of the biggest crowd drawers of Little Tokyo in Makati, Izakaya Kikufuji makes its first appearance for the year on the most popular restaurants list at number ten!

Izakaya Kikufuji boasts of an extensive menu, which includes sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, and even sukiyaki! But if there’s one thing you shouldn’t forget to order, it’s the Wagyu Beef Cubes! If you’re wondering just how good the wagyu is, Ted R. calls it a “steak from heaven” in his looloo review, adding that the “wagyu cubes were like butter. So tender you wouldn’t believe its meat you’re eating. The marbling of the beef was beautiful.”

Izakaya Kikufuji is located at Little Tokyo, 2277 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati.

9. Mighty Quinn’s

Whether you’re going for beef, pork, or chicken (maybe even all three!), Mighty Quinn’s has just what we need once the cravings hit. This meat lover’s heaven offers flavorful, succulent, and tender barbecued meat that will get you so hooked, you’ll think about having seconds.

Picking the meat to try might be easier said than done so why not choose the bestseller: the Brisket! In his looloo review, EJ B. recommends dipping the meat into the Mighty Quinn’s BBQ sauce before eating it together with a side of pickled vegetables and chilies to maximize the what he describes as “exciting flavors” that exploded in his mouth!

Mighty Quinn’s is located at 3/F Mega Fashion Hall, SM Megamall, EDSA corner Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong.

8. Little Owl Cafe

Coming it at number eight is the first of three newcomers on this list. The owners of Lola Cafe and Liberty Kitchen bring us yet another restaurant that begins with the letter ‘L’, Little Owl Cafe! Little Owl Cafe is everything you’re looking for in a relaxing, cozy nook where you can rest and unwind, complete with delicious and Instagrammable comfort food!

And by comfort food, we mean the likes of the grilled cheese sandwich! Little Owl Cafe’s take on this classic ranks as one of Ruth S.’s top three grilled cheese sandwiches, according to her looloo review. Midz S. praised the combination of cheese, tomato jam, and arugula in her looloo review, saying that the “saltiness of the cheese, bitterness from the arugula, sweetness from the tomato jam and the crunch from the toast is probably something I’d go back for.”

Little Owl Cafe is located at 65 Broadway Avenue, New Manila, Quezon City.

7. Hey Handsome

Hey Handsome has been on this rundown for three straight months. If that should tell you anything, it’s that foodies seem to be wanting more and more of the Peranakan cuisine that this restaurant offers! Sounds pretty exotic? Trust us, Peranakan cuisine is more familiar to you than you probably think!

Peranakan cuisine is actually a mix of Thai, Chinese, Malay, and other Asian flavors and these are precisely what Hey Handsome showcases in its menu! Hey Handsome recently launched a lunch menu that includes dishes such as the Chicken Rice (steeped chicken served with grilled bok choy, house soy, chili, and chicken rice), Fried Chicken (with house soy, squid ink kropek, coconut gravy, pickled turmeric egg, tofu, cabbage, and sambal assam), and Squid Ink Baguette (with fresh mixed vegetables, fried egg, oyster mushroom, tofu, dehydrated kale, and house coconut sauce).

Got room for dessert? Try the Donut Caramel, which comes with pinipig, rose ice cream, and marzipan meringue or the Donut Sang Kaya, which is served with pandan dressing and soy sauce ice cream. Yes, you read it right! Soy sauce ice cream!

Hey Handsome is located at Net Park Building, 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The second restaurant making a top ten most popular restaurants list appearance for the third month in a row is OOMA! Known as the home of the bestselling Hanger Steak and aburi (torched) makis, OOMA has more to offer to those who are looking to try something new and different but equally oh so good!

Are you a fan of tataki? OOMA offers three different kinds: salmon, hamachi, and tuna. If you can’t decide which to get, try the tuna, which Rhency L. describes in her looloo review as “surprisingly cheap and unsurprisingly GOOOD.”

There’s also the Buta Kakuni, which is made up of slow-roasted pork belly, pickled carrots, radish, scallions, and coconut sauce. Speaking of the coconut sauce, Justine D. calls it “the most addicting sauce” she’s had in OOMA in her looloo review!

OOMA has branches in Bonifacio High Street Central, SM Megamall, and Edades Tower and Garden Villas, Rockwell Center, Makati.

As you’ve probably figured out by now, dining at Nikuya involves a lot of patience and a lot of cooking if you’ll go for the shabu-shabu and charcoal grill. But if you’re worried about coming out of your lunch or dinner smelling like smoke, cast your fears aside because Nikuya’s grills are smokeless!

The shabu-shabu comes with assorted vegetables, rice cakes, fish balls, squid balls, and noodles as well as the optional choices for meat. You also get to pick two types of soup to cook them in! 3. Ping Pong Diplomacy

Ping Pong Diplomacy might sound like a name that came out of nowhere but a quick look at world history will tell you differently. It’s actually the term used to refer to the exchange of ping pong players between China and American back in the 70s! It may seem like a random event but it helped the political relations between the two countries.

True to the inspiration behind its name, the third and final newcomer on this list offers a modern, creative twist on the Chinese dishes we all know and love by adding some American flair to them! A must order at Ping Pong Diplomacy is the Dan Dan Chicken Skin Rice. Made up of crispy chicken skin, fermented chili, and toasted peanuts, Reich T. calls it “the rice that launched a thousand ships, the alpha and the omega” in her looloo review, saying that it is “what dreams are made of.”

Other favorites among looloo app users include the Simple Fried Egg (Ruth S. describes it as “Simple yet so goooooooood” in her looloo review) and the Crunchy Eggplant. Clarissa P. swears in her looloo review that “even kids will like this and will not notice that they were actually eating eggplant.” It’s that delicious!
